The variables are based on temperature and relative humidity and as a rule you can count on using about 1 – 1.6kW of energy to produce each gallon. This technology has been around for a while and most companies are utilizing the same principles as your standard Air Conditioning unit that creates condensation through pressure and refrigerant. Typically though this technology works very poorly below 40% humidity. Although many homes do use 100 gallons per day much of that is through irrigation so this guy could likely take care of the drinking water of several families.
